Skill 1.3 Finding Information in Books

Produced by Gatsby Science Enhancement Programme, this activity focuses on using reference books in a library. It provides practice in locating information using a range of reference materials.

The students are challenged to find information from encyclopaedia and dictionaries as well as using a range of books to gather bibliographic information on several science topics. In completing the activities, students will begin to see how the library is organised and how reference materials held within it can be a valuable source of information.
