Halima Hussain

Part of the From Good to Outstanding series, this Teachers TV video shows how school inspector Clare Gillies assesses Halima Hussain's Year Four science lesson on human growth and bone size. She identifies Halima's time management and explanation of context as key areas for improvement and challenges her to develop the skills of an outstanding teacher.

Halima receives advice from voice and communications coach Ulrika Schulte-Baukloh to combine more expansive gestures with clear verbal instructions. Science expert John Stringer looks at how Halima could present data with more relevance and use her education assistant more effectively.

Halima has just three weeks back in the classroom to turn their advice into action before Clare returns to observe a second lesson and deliver her final verdict.
