This video resource from Teachers TV is presented by Wendy Fortescue-Hubbard who explores average house prices at Colliers Wood and Wimbledon in south-west London, with a local estate agent who explains how an average price is obtained and why it may be useful to mortgage lenders. Stuart Hill, Head of Mathematics at Vyners School in Hillingdon, works with a class of top set Year Eight students who discuss factors which could affect the 'average' price of a house, before collecting data of house prices from different parts of the country, calculating the averages and interpreting their results to consider the most appropriate figures to quote.
