Women and Science and Technology

Written by Gwyneth Hughes and produced by the Association for Science Education (ASE), this resource pack looks at the role of women in science and technology. It consists of thirteen worksheets examining some of the issues around gender, science and technology.

The pack is primarily aimed at women. Its main purpose is to give confidence and encouragement to women who are already studying science or intending to do so. However the material raises awareness of equal opportunity issues in science, and has some study skills content, so could be used by mixed sex groups.

The whole pack could be used as a short course or each unit could be used individually to supplement science, general studies or personal education courses.

Each unit contains activities which are suitable for group or individual work. Guidance for teachers is also included.
