Hydrogen Rockets

From the Teachers TV series Demonstrating Chemistry, this video shows how to carry out an exciting demonstration which illustrates what happens when hydrogen and air react. Professor Hal Sosabowski, from Brighton University, uses an explosive mixture of hydrogen and air in a plastic bottle to show how rockets work, using a piece of drainpipe as a rocket launcher. This experiment also demonstrates Newton's second law, that every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
