Max's Story
This video tells the story of six year old Max, who has Hypohidrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia (HED), a condition that means he cannot sweat, has no teeth and very little hair. Max and his dad explain what living with the condition means for him and how it affects his daily life.
The teacher’s notes provide an explanation of Hypohidrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia, genetic disorders, faulty genes, recessive and dominant genes and x-linked disorders. The worksheet 'All About Max' could be used to assess learning after watching the film. Curriculum links include animals, including humans-teeth and eating, humans-circulation, properties and changes of materials- thermal insulators.
