Clean Water 2

This activity, from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), sets students the challenge of designing and building a water treatment system to produce a clean sample of water. They will need to think about what equipment they would need, what stages the dirty water would need to go through in order to clean it, and how they would show the water board that the water was clean enough to drink. Students can test their 'clean' water samples on agar plates.

This resource is part of the Pure Water scheme of work, from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and is supported by the video Pure Water.

Curriculum links include separation techniques, mixtures, dissolving, microbes, disease, sterile technique.
