Zone 12: Clean and Green

This Crystal exhibition resource from Siemens considers the pressure that increased waste, pollution and reduced air quality places on our environment.

From Rubbish to Resource is a design and make project in which students source waste products and make them into something not only useful but also potentially saleable.

Students will have to think about:

• What raw waste material is available to them
• What their own particular skills and interests are when it comes to designing products
• Asking the market what they would buy
• Whether their product can be made cost effectively enough to generate profit.
