Zone 14: Future Life

This Crystal exhibition resource from Siemens provides an opportunity for students to consider the changes they can make as individuals to shape our cities and world for a more sustainable future. Sustainability is an issue for leaders and planners, but it is also our responsibility as individuals to make sure we live our lives in ways that ensure we do not consume more resources than we have to. We should also manage the resources we have efficiently and in a way that minimises waste and impact on the environment. In this project, students are asked to conduct an audit to help people make decisions about sustainability issues. The aim of the project is to help students to understand: • The implications for people in their everyday lives of becoming more sustainable • How people may react to some of the proposed changes Students will need to consider: • The difference between people’s current practices and a more sustainable lifestyle • How people who want to change can be supported • How evidence of change can be gathered
