Graphs
This Instant Maths Ideas resource contains three files: Co-ordinates and Straight-line Graphs contains ten instant maths ideas including drawing pictures using coordinates, finding equations of straight lines, exploring the gradient of parallel lines, investigating the gradients of perpendicular lines, open-ended tasks, playing battleships and dissection puzzles. Polynomial Graphs contains four instant maths ideas including mathematically modelling the flight of projectiles, exploring different curves using a graph plotter and investigating how the gradient of a curve varies. The resource sheets include diagrams of a variety of curves for use in the tasks and a worksheet to help find the gradient of a curve by numerical methods. Real-Life Graphs contains thirteen instant maths ideas asking students to interpret different graphs, draw distance-time graphs, draw velocity-time graphs, an exploration of the ‘suvat’ equations and consideration of Zeno’s Paradox.
