Area and Perimeter

This resource consists of two interactive excel files.

Area and Perimeter: Algebraic, Rectangles
The first two sheets of this excel file begin with finding the perimeter and area of rectangles starting with numerical values for the sides then involving some algebra.

The next sheet deals with two types of problem;

a) finding sides of the rectangle given one side and the area or
b) finding both sides given the area and perimeter.

There are a further six sheets of questions on similar topics which may be duplicated for classroom use.

Area of Rectangle Based Shapes
This interactive excel file deals with finding area and perimeter of shapes made from combinations of rectangles. It begins with simple problems then becomes more challenging. Students can change the shapes in the problems making them more difficult to solve. Lengths are all integers and the areas and perimeters can be displayed. There are the same six sheets of questions as in the previous file and these may be duplicated for classroom use.
