Challenge Cards
This resource consists of three pages of challenge cards. Each card contains eight challenges.
Challenge cards 1 asks students to calculate the number of triangles in a shape, the least number of colours required to colour a shape, how to measure exactly 4 gallons using a 5 gallon and a 3 gallon jug, a missing number puzzle, a prime number puzzle, a perimeter puzzle, a number puzzle and a time puzzle.
Challenge card 2 contains a probability question, requires students to form and solve a simultaneous equation, calculate percentages, calculate means, ratio puzzles, use Venn diagrams and a speed, distance time problem.
Challenge card 3 contains a question requiring the use of Pythagoras' theorem, a number problem, students to find the area of a circle, a fractions problem, a prime number puzzle, calculate the number of squares on a chess board, an averages problem and a simultaneous equation problem.
