Year Three Spring Term
Aimed at primary children from seven to eight years of age, this resource supports learning about place value, addition and subtraction. Two detailed weekly plans contain differentiated activities, guided and independent tasks and a list of resources required for each lesson. Objectives covered in the lessons include:
Week One
- Place 3-digit numbers on a line
- Order and compare 3-digit numbers
- Find a number between two 3-digit numbers
- Understand place value in 3-digit numbers
Week Two
- Mental addition and subtraction
- Add and subtract pairs of 2-digit numbers using partitioning and near multiples
- Add three 2-digit numbers
- Mental subtraction using counting back and counting up
