Repeated graphical patterns

This resource from the IET Faraday programme, supported by MEI and Tomorrow's Engineers, asks students to read and interpret repeating wave pattern graphs.

"Engineers sometimes have to analyse data which shows a repeating pattern. Plotting a graph of the data is often helpful as it shows a picture of the pattern. This pattern may sometimes go on and on."

The resource includes a presentation that introduces two graphs of repeating patterns and a series of questions for students to explore. The activity overview includes classroom notes, discussion points, extension activity suggestions, answers and details of the curriculum content covered. The student handout includes printable versions of the two graphs.
