Video

Purpose: Recording a video clip of motion or colour change is an effective means of generating data, but video can also be created to communicate the methods and findings of a practical science activity.

Teaching approach: Still images, and video clips can be imported into a video editing app, where they can be sequenced, adjusted and a narration added before saving as a single video file for distribution.

Preparation: Image and / or video clips of practical science activities are first saved to the device’s photo library. A video editing app is then used to import the material so that it can be sequenced and edited. Most digital devices include a microphone, enabling a prepared narration to be added once editing of images is complete.

This blog describes how iMovie was used with a Y9 science class.
