Interpreting functions
This resource features a short task on distance time graphs.
Students initially consider a distance time graph that has journeys for a car and motorbike. They use the graph to find the distance between the car and motorbike for six points in time and then sketch the graph of the separation between the two vehicles.
The task concludes with a matching exercise where four distance time graphs must be matched with two statements.
This task is from the Mathematics Assessment Resource Service, a collaboration between UC Berkeley and the Shell Centre team at the University of Nottingham. A full rubric is given for the task. Further information on the collection is given here.
