Cubic graph
This resource features a short task on cubic functions.
Students are given a graph of a cubic function. They then have a series of tasks to complete relating to the function. These tasks involve; substitution, interpreting the graph, explaining how the cubic only has one solution, determining the y-axis intercept. A final task involves students sketching a further cubic.
This task is from the Mathematics Assessment Resource Service, a collaboration between UC Berkeley and the Shell Centre team at the University of Nottingham. A full rubric is given for the task. Further information on the collection is given here.
