Perfect plant salad
From the British Nutrition Foundation, in partnership with the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB), this lesson plan and supporting resources aim to help children understand and be able to explain that some food we eat comes from plants, including vegetables and fruits, help learners to name parts of plants that we eat and to perform simple food skills safely such as cutting with scissors, grating, measuring and mixing ingredients. This session contains a lesson plan, an advice sheet to support setting up cooking with your class, display cards and a letter with activity to send home to parents in order to continue the learning outside of the classroom. Although this resource is designed for EYFS, it could be easily adapted to work across the primary phase.
