Tree project session

In this resource from the Construction Youth Trust, students are asked to create loci and constructions when working with trees on a construction project. The materials have been written to help a non-teaching STEM professional to work with students in an educational setting.

The resources comes with a collection of student hand-outs and includes comprehensive teacher notes that contain a lesson plan with timings, prompts and questions as well as a to-do list for both before and after the session.

The session aims for students to discover construction careers that they may know little about, and to see how their maths learning relates to their potential future careers.

The materials were written to help schools address Gatsby Benchmark 2: Learning from career and labour market information, Gatsby Benchmark 5: Encounters with employers and industry employees and Gatsby Benchmark 4: Linking curriculum learning to careers.
