Session 4: Flowcharts and Pseudocode

Session 4 introduces flowcharts to solve problems. The session takes you through some simple flowcharts to start and identifies the symbols to use on a flowchart. It then moves onto more complex flowcharts to help you understand how to read them. This session will take you approximately 45 minutes to complete. There is an extension task with a more complex problem if you find the initial tasks easy. If you find the main task difficult then there is a easier version to try.

By the end of the session you will:

  • understand the different flowchart symbols

  • be able to follow a flowchart and understand its purpose

  • be able to create your own simple flowchart
