How do CO₂ emissions link to global temperatures?

The aim of this resource is to answer the question how do CO emissions link to global temperatures? This lesson, linked to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, explores the concept of a carbon budget. To answer the question, students create a pie chart to illustrate the historic carbon budget and the estimated remaining amount of carbon in the budget for the 1.5C target. They also draw a line graph to illustrate the relationship between cumulate carbon dioxide emissions and global temperature and consider which countries have emitted the most carbon dioxide.
