Animation - Make moving pictures

This is one of a set of resources designed to allow pupils to develop their knowledge and skills in computing, art and design.  This resource, which could be delivered across two separate lessons, involves using software on digital devices to design and create an animation.

Pupils will start off by learning about early forms of animation such as the Thaumatrope and Zoetrope, they will then create their own Thaumatrope and investigate stop motion animation. Finally, working in groups, they will develop their own animation on a science topic of their choice, mapping out the visual elements, recording the animation and adding audio.
