Who says you can't teach science?
Designed to help adults guide elementary school age children toward an understanding of the natural world, this document presents a step-by-step experiential introduction to general science. Developed for use by teachers, parents, camp counselors, and youth group leaders, it discusses ways to overcome restrictions such as lack of student aptitude, time, money and space.
The booklet is divided into three major sections. Part 1, "What is the World Made of?" contains background information and teaching activities about air, water, dirt and rocks, earth in space, and using the sun's energy. The second section, "How do Things Work on Earth?" provides information and activities dealing with motion, sound, light and color, simple machines, and magnetism and electricity. The final section of activities and information is titled "Who Lives on Earth?" and considers plants, animals, and the human body. There are a total of 118 ready-to-use experiments in the document as a whole
