Achieving QTS: Primary mathematics - knowledge and understanding

This course book has been written specifically to help trainee primary teachers develop a secure knowledge and understanding of mathematics.

It addresses the subject knowledge requirements as set out in the Professional Standards for QTS, making clear the links with the students' national curriculum and the national numeracy strategy.

Organised around the main areas of mathematical knowledge, each chapter includes self-assessment questions to test understanding, research summaries and practical activities to reinforce difficult concepts.
