Building visions: construction industry council

Produced by CIC's Diversity Panel, Building Visions is a construction industry sponsored film showing some of the creative and inspiring career opportunities in the construction professions. In the film young professionals tell us about their projects and explain how they shape our surroundings to fit our lifestyles. We meet an architect, building services engineer, quantity surveyor, civil engineer, structural engineer, and planner. We enter their design offices, and visit construction sites and completed buildings. We learn how they work as part of a team; why they chose their careers, what they studied, and why they enjoy their work.

The film is targeted at young people in key stage 3 and above (14 -18 years) who are thinking about career choices and it features professionals from diverse backgrounds speaking about their own career paths and working lives. To support this pack CIC have developed Guidance Notes with for teachers and careers advisors along with a short quiz to inform and deliver IAG and support curriculum based study time.
