Integrating advanced technology into technology education

This book addresses a new school subject, Technology Education, which is emerging in the NATO countries in response to the need to develop technologically literate citizens. Technology Education programmes prepare students to evaluate, control, and function confidently with the technology that characterizes their environment. This work relates to the integration of advanced technology into Technology Education programmes. The book includes contributions from international leaders in Technology Education who have attempted to show how technology, as a school subject, differs from classical science teaching, yet integrates the study of mathematics, science and social science within a practical, problem-based, "design-and-construct" approach.
