Science: materials (teaching the tricking bits)

Teaching the Tricky Bits is a series of books that has been designed to provide the teacher, especially the non-specialist, with detailed background information on how to teach the more difficult concepts in the science curriculum. The books will give teachers the confidence to answer all those tricky questions that children tend to ask, such as 'Why is blood red?' and 'How do batteries work?'

Although full of facts and detailed information, these books are not dull and dry! The author has used a friendly. often humorous approach which is designed  appeal to the adult reader.

Each chapter in the book contains:

  • detailed background information designed to enhance the teacher's won knowledge and learning
  • a selection of useful, interesting facts that will amaze the children
  • fun, cartoon-style drawings to liven pages, plus detailed, labeled diagrams
  • an invaluable collection of activities to try out in class for levels 1 to 6 of the science curriculum.
