Everyone counts: looking for bias and insensitivity in primary mathematics materials
Everyone Counts is intended to help teachers examine the view of the world and of the people in it that is shown in mathematics materials. Many materials show only a narrow range of people, do not acknowledge their existence, show them in a limited set of roles or normalise one group of people and not others. It is important that teachers analyse the biases and values revealed in mathematics materials, as they affect children educationally, emotionally and socially.
