Staff Development: Active Learning

This video was developed for the National HE STEM Programme project ‘becoming a STEM enthusiast’ to be used in conjunction with the activities found in this collection. In the video, different active learning techniques are discussed.

Professor Peter Cox explains how he uses videos to show opposing views, Zena Wood explains how competition is used to motivate students, Dr Barrie Wood fosters a learning community by initiating a question board discussion every week and Dr Chris Smith always engages students in a real world project.
