Lattice polygons
A four by four grid is shown. The challenge is to find polygons with an area of exactly two square units. As additional challenges finding different types of triangles is posed as a problem, followed by pentagons and hexagons. The problem can be approached by counting squares, though some knowledge of how to find the area of a triangle will help with the later stages of the challenge. This resource is suitable for Key Stage 3.
