Questioning Whole Groups 2

In these Standards Unit:Improving Learning in Mathematics vidoes you can see part of another session where whole group questioning is taking place.

Sequence:
As you watch the video sequence consider the following questions:
* What different question types does the teacher use, and what are the advantages of each?
* How does the teacher use the responses given by learners?
* How does he ensure each learner is involved?
* What do you think he is trying to achieve in each interaction?

You might also like to reflect on the different approaches used in Examples 1 and 2, and on the reasons for the strategies adopted.
