Underground Pipes
This activity, from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), allows students to investigate environmental issues in the context of the design and operation of a new school. Students are required to apply their mathematical understanding of formulae and problem solving. They calculate the lengths of pipes used as part of an underground heating system and present a brief explanation of how a sustainable underfloor heating system operates.
This resource is supported by the video Green School and by supporting activities in the Green School sub-collection.
