Nuffield Science 11 to 13: Year 2

The second year of the Nuffield 11-13 course is divided into more traditional units geared towards an understanding of science in everyday life, and in its relation to society. The title ‘How science is used’ for the second year book conveys both the continuity and change.

A concern for processes maintains the continuity from the first year of the course, but in the second year materials the topics are somewhat more content-centred. The course designers were keen that the materials could be used flexibility to allow teachers to be creative. The twelve chapters in the Teachers’ Guide correspond to paired reader and activity chapters in the book for students.
