VLE Use to Enhance Biology Learning

Produced by the Learning Skills Improvement Service (LSIS), this case study tackles the themes of harnessing technology and curriculum development. It looks at how the biology department of City and Islington College set up, trialled and integrated a Moodle virtual learning environment (VLE).

The approach used a generic biology Moodle format, that can be personalised for individual biology sets. The aims were to have students use the VLE as an essential tool in their learning, and to demonstrate to teachers how the VLE can promote differentiation and independent learning.
